Okay, all you writers say it with me, are there days when you are just DESPERATE??? Wanting to write a beautiful, thought-provoking blog post, but you are way, way, way behind working on your WIP and feel guilty, guilty, guilty??? That is the predicament I’m in. I am trudging through Act Two of my book, and there are so many opportunities to turn the story in the wrong direction, I feel if I stray too far, the story will gobble me up in endless plot twists.
So, with that said, forgive me for not writing more, and simply enjoy some frivolous fun from intrepid YouTube posters who had more time to work on their projects than I did. First up, a classic with over 4 million views, the BBC’s Funny Talking Animals
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-Kt_kuYVtU
And because we all missed it, the now famous Teddy Bear, the talking porcupine, enjoying his Valentine’s Day treat (yeah, I know it’s March?!? How did it get here so fast???/)
And because this cracks me up, every time, the cat caught barking like a dog.
Have a marvelous weekend my friends, thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the best.
I was doing okay until I got sick, and then I lost a lot of work time. Even though I’m feeling better now, I’m exhausted trying to catch up. So “desperate” is a good descriptor.
I know of what you speak…. take a deep breath and don’t freak out.
That was funny! You should get behind in your projects more often so we can see move videos!
I’m kidding. You should definitely not get behind in your projects.
Happy writing, Rachel!

Thanks for stopping by, I know, it’s funny what you find when you see your blog stats dwindle.
Great videos Rachel! I was just going to send you over a note and see what happened to you. So glad you came up for air! Missed you! 🙂
You’re a wee spooky person because I’ve just been talking about being DESPERATE about my wip to my DH.
He’s telling me not to be so hard on myself and that I’ll burn out if I carry on. The key is to keep it simple and then go back and layer characterisation, deep ipov, intrigue etc., once you’ve finished the first draft. Work backwards because by then you’ll have a handle on the thing and (hopefully) have written the ending, or will change how you get to the ending.
This week I’ve attended the funeral of a friend I’ve had for almost twenty years and caught up with old friends too. Naturally, the whole event including the days running up to it and after affected my daily discipline. But this is real life and my head’s still not back in the wip. So I’ll put it aside for a few days and then return to the work.
It is what it is and we are where we are. Fret not Oh Great One. Ye Shall Return!!
Hugs
CC, it’s funny how life works, isn’t it? I do think it has to do with the planets, Mars is retrograde… but the WIP is in good shape, and it was fun watching Teddy Bear, he always makes me smile. Thanks for the hugs.
That was funny. I am always watching YouTube for stuff like this.
some of them come from my crazy facebook friends, I just copy and paste baby, copy and paste. Thanks for stopping by.
great videos. glad you’re getting better
Oh that was too good! I can relate to being behind. I have not touched my WIP in a couple of weeks. The only thing I have written has been my blog, but so far I have very low readership. Glad you are feeling better, hope all is well with your mom too.
