Greetings, I hope all is well in your world, life is nice and toasty in here. My first thought when beginning this blog was one of: damn, how . So, how in the world can I write a blot without sounding like a pretentious jerk? By reminding myself that it’s also about you too. We are all in this together. The world is raging, going through massive upheavals, enough to scare you to death. I propose to fill this blog with thoughts and opinions about moving through the darkness toward the light. I can’t take on ALL of the darkness, I choose to focus on the areas that intrigue me: murder mysteries, psychological thrillers and suspense.
But when we talk about the dark, we have to include the light, this includes observations about myself as just another sojourner on this road back to the dusty world. And I am reminded every day that we, you and I dear reader, are more than the sum of our parts. We are divine inspiration, and it brings me a bit of peace during the day to think back to the real source of “inspiration” meaning spirit.
Now, don’t worry. I’m not going to get all new-agey on your ass. I am still the hellafunkadella – my finely tuned bullshit-detector alter ego that will beat me senseless if I get too airy-fairy and “it’s all about the light.” Jung reminds us that: “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not popular.”
So, welcome. I hope you enjoy it here. I’d love to hear from you. What are your favorite psychological thrillers? Why do you enjoy them so much?
Yay — welcome to the blogosphere, Rachel!! Great first post and you’re right, we’re all in this together! It’s sure to be a fun ride.
Ginger, whew! this is some tricky stuff. I have this site and a domain, but wasn’t able to get this great theme to load. Too techy for me. Back to writing.
Great first post, Rachel! It’s always good to remember that we are on this journey with friends.
I LOVE the theme. The typography and layout is really beautiful.
It definitely takes a while to get the hang of loading things up on websites. Hang in there. The effort–as you can see from your site–is worth it. I’m not a techie by any means, but I love learning how to do techie things. Always have. I find it equal parts fun and frustrating teaching myself how to customize elements on my page.

Hi Sonia, thanks so much for stopping by. I will look into getting a gravatar. I was thrilled that I was able to get the post listed in the proper category. Ops, I just remembered, I’ve just posted a new entry and forgot to add my tags…. a woman’s work is never done. Have a wonderful day.
Anyone who can work the word Hellafunkadella into their first post will be a huge success! Congrats on your blog and welcome to the sphere!
Hi Susie, thanks for stopping by. I wish I could do everything under the moniker “Hellafunkadell” maybe when my media empire grows to published books and movies, then I’ll make the switch.
